Techno Night Off

A crazy storm passed by us a night ago, and as the wind was pelting the windows with bits of broken trees with sheets of rain falling like misting clouds, I decided it was a perfect time to take a night off from TV and computer. How addicted are we as a society (most of us anyway) to either be attached to our phone/computer/TV?
~~~~~
Snuggling up on the couch with Melba-Fritz long passed out from a day of play-and a light blanket, the book I was reading seemed oh so much better than before. But I think most of all my brain is thanking me. Hmm... this might be a good goal to do at least once a week. Who's in?
~
I could have stayed outside for hours on end looking at this wondrous sky. I'm very thankful that I live in the place that I do. Of course there are places I would love to live at for awhile, but nothing compares or comes close to the beauty of Montana. ~
Wednesday NOT My Craft-Update!
We had a fun and fabulous past weekend, with Saturday traveling to a small town a few miles away for their annual Homestead Days. Enjoying a parade, candy, craft fair, good food and music, I'm left with wishes that we could have such fun days like that all the time!
~~~~~
I stopped by a vendor that had beautiful blankets and crochet items up for sale. There were so many that caught my eye, but being one with a hook addiction myself, I tend to not buy from others that sell what I can make myself. However, this woman had such unique and unusual things and I couldn't resist this 4th of July themed star she crocheted. The holiday has passed us by, but really I like to keep a bit of the red, white, and blue all through out July. Why not?

Enjoy the Light

A cool rainstorm late in the evening.
Glowing light pushing back the darkness of storm clouds.

And of course, the ever awesome peaceful sounds of soft raindrops.

How was your night?

A Night Under the Warm Sun

We knew of a free concert that is held at a nursing home/assisted living complex, and also knew that a cousin would be signing and playing (the one on the right with the tie-dyed shirt). How fun to spend a warm evening with good food, good music, and good family!
Fritz had a lot of fun dancing on Grandma's lap. He was back and forth between Grandma and Grandpa as he couldn't quite decide who was more fun. Definitely not me!

Fritz also got to enjoy his very first, very own ice cream cone. Of course he made a mess, but isn't it worth the clean up to see the happy smiles of a wee one and his ice cream?

And of course we had to stop and talk to all the ducks at the complex. And what a beautiful complex it is! Evenings like this are so precious and wonderful. I have plans to keep this fun up, and I'm sure Fritz won't disagree.

The Cat and His View

Boo decided he needed a little fresh air break late one evening. I'm not sure if he enjoyed the sunset more or the fact that Fritz was in bed and could let him watch the clouds in peace. Nah, I know which one.

Happy Birthday to my Little Boy

How time has flown by. Way too fast for this Mommy. My little wee one turned two today, and how sad and happy I was for this occasion. With lots of hugs and kisses and good times to be had, it was a grand b-day for Fritz. Here he is getting ready to eat his cupcakes. If you look closely his real name is spelled out! But let's start at the beginning shall we? The Hubs took the day off from work to spend it with the Birthday boy. We both came into his room upon his morning calls to us, and he was sooooo delighted to see his Daddy an extra day this week! We had not a fancy breakfast, but something just plain delicious and fun. Maple bar donuts. Yummy!

Next a few family members came over for a Birthday lunch and to watch Fritz open all his presents. Unfortunately he was a little too tired to do this at lunch so he had to take a nap early to get ready for all the excitement later that day! Here he is later playing with one of the many presents. Fritz has been stealing Mommy's golf clubs and golf balls for the past couple of weeks as they are just too much fun to play with. So Grandmee and Grandpee got him his very own set!

Daddy found Fritz a neat tool set with a tool belt. I think he was happy to find it for him so Fritz would stop whining so much when Daddy won't give him the real hammer to play with when the Hubs is working on something! It has every thing Fritz will need to help his Daddy with. That's Fritz and his Grandpee checking out the screwdriver.

For dinner we took a small drive to get some take-and-bake pizza. It was so much fun for Fritz to have an extra day with his Daddy, and especially fun when they got to sit together for dinner. Next was some swing time and a little soccer ball action. And after such a long exciting day, Fritz was off to bed and passed out in minutes.

Here's to another great Birthday my sweet little boy. I love you so very much and cannot for one second imagine you not with me. Let's have another wonderful year together and many, many more awesome birthdays.

A Night Out on the Town

We had some great friends over for the Holiday weekend, and a rare treat with hiring a babysitter for Saturday night, so the adults could get some fun time!
With a parade and fireworks, and great food, catching up with friends made the weekend extra special.
And P.S. A very special little boy has his birthday tomorrow!

A Little More Spray Paint Love

I think the spray paint has gotten to my head. I'm loving it so much I keep finding more things to update! The first picture is of a ladder that I found at a garage sale that was extremely ugly, but I knew it had some beauty in it somewhere. And it turned out perfect to use as a little side table. This shelf thing-y was in my Grandparent's home, and I have had it for many years. However, a few years ago we re-stained it to update the color, and the staining was not done very well. I had put it in the garage sale to get rid of it, as I really had no more use for it. Now, I'm kinda glad it didn't sell! Most of our framed photos are downstairs in our spare bedroom and I wanted to be able to have some upstairs, and now we do! Including, if you notice, some very stylish art work from one little babe named Fritz.
Hmmm... what to get my hands on next??
